The Costello Memorial Chapel in Carrick-On-Shannon is the second smallest chapel in the world. It was built in the 19th Century by Costello in memory of his wife. Husband and wife now rest side by side in the beautiful memorial.


Leitrim Crystal is situated in Carrick On Shannon, County Leitrim and specialises in a range of different crystal creations including vases, bowls, glasses, gifts, lamps and trophies.

Ken and Sandra Cunningham are the proprietors and established Leitrim Crystal in 2000. A family run business, Ken is a qualified master crystal glass cutter. Visitors can avail of the opportunity to see a craftsman at work and arrange to view creations being designed, cut and engraved.

Crystal can be customized for all occasions including awards, weddings, and presentations. A full range of crystal is on display for purchase in the shop. A dispatch service is also provided.

Recommended by the Craft Council of Ireland as a leading craft and design outlet in the country, this unique centre of excellence is housed in The Dock. This beautiful 19th Century building overlooks the majestic River Shannon.

The former courthouse has been restored and acts as Leitrim's first integrated centre for the arts. A great location to purchase a special gift, an original piece of work, a hand crafted item or to commission something special and unique. It represents over 250 artists working in ceramics, glass, paper, wood, textiles, metal and jewelry, it offers visitors the very best in design, contemporary craft and visual art.

The gallery hosts two major exhibitions each year, one in the autumn with a strong educational angle, and one in the spring, intended to be visually stimulating with something to appeal to all tastes and budgets. Solo and group exhibitions are offered to invited artists who can challenge, educate and initiate a response or connection with their audience.


St. George's Heritage and Visitor Centre is located in St. George's Church and Carrick Workhouse, Carrick On Shannon, County Leitrim.

The restored church, houses a well-researched and exciting historical display of artefacts and interpretive material and audio visual displays depicting the traditions of Leitrim from ancient Gaelic roots through plantation times up to Leitrim's contribution and sacrifice in the Great War. This is seen in the context of Carrick on Shannon development as a town and the minimal, but historically accurate restoration of the workhouse attic, in which it is reported that 1896 poor souls’ deaths were recorded. The workhouse is adjacent to the Fairline Graveyard of Remembrance.
