A quick Q&A with Michael O’Dwyer

What have you been up to Michael?

Enjoying my time off. Playing the odd game of golf here and there and spending time with family and friends.

Are you looking forward to the cruise?

I can’t wait for cruise, I’ve heard so many great things about it so I’m very excited for it.

What’s the best thing about being on tour?

One of my favorite things about being tour is getting the opportunity to travel and see so many different parts of the world that I may not have had the opportunity to see.

When it comes to breakfast, do you go for the healthy option or the full Irish?

I would always try to go for the healthy option but I’m a big fan of the full Irish!

What’s your favorite type of music to listen to when you’re on the tour bus?

I wouldn’t say I have a favorite type of music to listen to. But anything that’s on my iPod will do.

Do you sing whenever you get the opportunity?

Any chance I get, I love to sing.

When you’re on tour, what do you miss most about home?

Family and friends mostly.

Who’s your favorite Irish singer?

Van Morrison. 

If you had to go and live on a deserted island and you were allowed to bring three items, what would they be and why?

A guitar so I could keep myself entertained.

My Laptop because I can’t go anywhere without it. 

A crate of Guinness well, just because ;)

Do you all play jokes on each other when you’re on the road?

There’s always a good bit of banter had on the road. 

Who’s the biggest joker in the band?

The biggest joker in the band has to be David Munro.

When did you know, this is what I want to do, I want to sing?

Probably when I took up the guitar when I was about 12 years old I felt this was for me.

Who do you most admire and why?

My Mother and Father for putting up with me for so many years.

Biggest moment of your life?

One of the biggest moments was definitely becoming part of the Celtic Thunder family.

Are you a daredevil?

I wouldn’t say I’m a Daredevil, but I do love thrill rides like rollercoasters and bungee jumping. 

What’s your favorite dinner?

My favorite dinner would have to be my mother’s Sunday roast.

What’s your favorite sport?

My favorite sport is rugby.

Have you anything to say to your fans?

Very excited about seeing you all again very soon.

What’s the last thing you do before you go on stage?

Pre-show nap! 

What’s your favorite food?

Chicken.

What is the one thing you would like to improve about yourself?

Have a little bit more self-discipline. 

Who inspires you to be your best?

My Family definitely inspires me to be my best with their love and support.

How much sleep do you need every night?
