On one of the county’s many driving routes you can discover rushing waterfalls, peaceful lake shores, historic sites such as Manorhamilton Castle and even venture underground to coal mining’s past at Arigna Mining Experience.

Take your pick from the Northern Glens Trail which boasts Dartry Mountain views; the Southern Waterways Trail which takes in Florencecourt House and the Marble Arch Caves the Lough Allen Drive where you’ll find Spencer Harbour; and Glenade Drive on where you can see the beautiful Glenade Lake.


The Glenade Drive takes you through the beautiful scenery around Glenade Lake which is a result of millions of years of Earth history, the most recent of which was the last Ice Age.


This signposted route can be travelled in any direction and from any starting point. Map illustrations are intended as a guide only and routes should be travelled in conjunction with reference to a good road map of Ireland.

For those seeking adventure, head to Ballinaglera and the Lough Allen Adventure Centre. Dowra is a walker’s paradise as The Miners, Leitrim and Cavan Way all meander through this area.


A new touring route for car drivers, motorcyclists, that gives you a taste of what we call ‘The Real Ireland’.  The route takes in 385 Kms of rural roads in Cavan, Fermanagh, Leitrim and Sligo.  It passes through a variety of scenic areas, from mountains to river valleys and from inland lakes to the Wild Atlantic. Off The Beaten Track North-West follows a variety of roads, from primary routes to narrow single-track rural roads, some with grass up the middle. Be aware that you are travelling on roads that are used by local people, cyclists, farmers and others, so you may met them, possibly along with animals on the road.
