SHARE YOUR IRISH HERITAGE CONNECTIONS

We would love you to share your Irish Roots with all of the Celtic Thunder family.

From our wonderful experiences with Celtic Thunder, we are ever so lucky to meet people from all over the world and from all walks of life but we are also over whelmed by the amount of Irish diaspora that live outside of Ireland.  YOU, the Celtic Thunder fans have shared so many lovely stories with us about your heritage and connections with Ireland.

Many of you have shared via email with me (Elaine!) stories about your Irish roots …things like the places in Ireland your family came from, when they arrived in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and many other places. Some people have old photographs of their ancestors while they lived in Ireland or perhaps photos of their dwelling places and even letters that their families got from home when they had emigrated. It was such a different world then no Facebook, Skype, emails …cheap travel ….when your ancestors set sail they never really knew if they would ever see their families again and many of them were so young, my own Grandmothers sister went to America when she was 16 …I would have to think twice about letting my daughter go on a train down the country on her own at that age!!!!  I love hearing these stories and seeing the photos …and I think that you the fans would also enjoy sharing your stories and reading other people’s stories. One of the Celtic Thunder fans, Mary recently sent me a picture of her grandnephew being christened in a beautiful christening gown that her mother had made and brought from Ireland.  This is just one of the types of stories I’m talking about.  Mary’s wonderful story and photos will be in what I hope will be this new section of the Celtic Times very soon.

I hope that you do like the idea of sharing your roots with me and the other Celtic Thunder fans …and if you do please email me at elaine@celticthunder.com with what you know about your ancestry and would like to share.. any photos you have would be wonderful too …whatever you have that will tell your personal FAMILY STORY.

Thanks as always and I hope to hear from you very soon.

Elaine.

We talk about this a lot, and Elaine receives some lovely photos and stories from you our fans, stories about your families, friends and home places in Ireland.  Elaine came up with an idea that we print a photo form your home place in Ireland whether it be first generation or ancestral.  If you have a story to tell us about your photo, we would love to share it with the Celtic Times readers.

If you would like to submit your story and photos, please email to Elaine at elaine@celticthunder.com. We will do our best to add to the Celtic Times and share the Irish story!
