Charlie Landsborough started his musical career in the 1960s as part of the group the Chicago Sect, it wouldn't be until the mid-'90s that the country and folk musician would achieve success in the music industry. Born in Birkenhead, England, in 1941, Charlie Landsborough joined the Chicago Sect while in the army and stationed in Germany. When he returned to the UK, he became a teacher, and wrote and performed his work when time and opportunity would allow. In 1994, all that was to change with the release of his touching single "What Colour Is the Wind?" A number one hit in Ireland and a big seller in England, Australia, and New Zealand, the single won Landsborough a recording deal, and he went on to record ten albums over the next ten-plus years, as well as winning the BMCA Best Male Vocalist Award three times.
